Oprah Winfrey is often described as the true epitome of the “American Dream”, even though she had a difficult upbringing marked by poverty and abuse. Despite her struggles, she was accepted with a full scholarship into Tennessee State University, where she studied communications and later pursued a career as a news anchor for a publication in Baltimore. Winfrey created her talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, where she interviews celebrities and discusses political topics such as poverty, racism, and violence. She was previously credited for having the most popular daytime talk show in The United States.
